This old red Ford was discovered by photographer Kerry DiDonato in White Plains, NY. I knew where I was trying to go with the "body work" message, but called on avid American car collector ~ and Cardthartic backer ~ Jack Kraft to drive the message home.

Having been hospitalized for a week with salmonella, I Really know what of I speak with this one! Anyone who has been prone day-after-night-after-day knows that Just when you drift off, the door slams open and here comes someone to do some intrusive thing to you. Although the hospital I was in had amazing oatmeal raisin cookies!

As most people who know Passages cards well know, we don’t refer to The Cardthartic Experience for nothing ~ it’s from real life encounters that these messages come! Generally speaking, however, “first the experience, then the card” is usually how it goes. In the case of this Feel Better design, I had the dubious honor of testing its veracity by spending a full week in the hospital ~ felled by salmonella. I’m proud to tell you, this card hits the mark. Another tidbit, at least a dozen people have called or written us over the years insisting this image is of their late husband or grandfather or friend. While we honestly don’t know the name of the man in the picture, we can tell you it was snapped in the late 1990s at a Sweet Corn Festival in our headquarters' city, Champaign, IL.
